Bouquets of Energy. These paintings prompt exhilarating visual containment within their own artistic worlds. Reflecting other-worldly galaxies with radiating arms, each piece contains a central nucleus that expands outward in passionate whirls of visual vibrancy.
Composed in both oval or square formats, most are painted on a durable vellum film called Denril. Acrylic paint allows Thornton to combine soft washes and thick impasto strokes to create luminous textures and layers.
