Corporate Process
The Corporate Commission Process
Creating Cohesive Exchanges. Corporate Commissions provide the unique opportunity to incorporate brand-specific messaging and mission-related criteria into the creation of an artwork. Thornton considers this vital to creating a cohesive work of art that will inspire both staff and clientele.

CORPORATE COMMISSION PROCESS
Brand messaging or mission statements may be incorporated into the final artwork through techniques such as laser-etched words or a variety of other methods unique to each project. Following the Amy Thornton Artworks Collaborative Model, numerous exchanges between the Artist and Collector(s) drive the ultimate installation of each final artwork.
Steps of the Process
Corporate Brand, Mission & Vision. Thornton requests a critical overview of these essential ingredients prior to the Intake Consultation. Key considerations and options may then be presented as part of the Intake Consultation.
Intake Consultation. Initial parameter meetings are set up in person or via Skype to carefully consider and review the scope and vision of each artwork. Thornton excels at collaborating within team environments and juggling input and criteria from multiple stakeholders. An in-person or virtual tour guides the fully integrated vision that is vital to Thornton’s conceptual process.
Reconnaissance. Thornton surveys and gathers resources before commencing. Multiple reference images are photographed or requested for interior design aspects, shape, color and textural influencers. Sequential aspects are considered and influence each stage of the process.
Proposal. Concepts are presented in a proposal that includes multiple options for direction of artwork. The proposal will address any Corporate criteria and mission or brand-specific influences. Presentation may include prior installation references, mock-ups of materials, recommended style considerations, hardware usage and early installation plan.
Your Own Private Viewing Gallery. Review your proposal and follow Thornton’s process in your own Private Viewing Gallery. Contact us for a private password to view your proposal as well as video and images of the development of your commissioned artwork. These will be available to you as archive materials, proprietary provenance and a historic marker of your collaboration. A downloadable PDF format of this record will be available to you after installation.
Acceptance Agreement. Adjustments, refinements and additional considerations are refined into a one-page agreement, signed by both the Collector(s) and Artist, with installation deliverable defined. Any developments or processes outside of a reasonable scope with this agreement will require an addendum. Collaborative communication and follow-up guide this agreement.
Pricing. Costs for Corporate Commissions typically range from $5K – $25K depending on size and complexity. A deposit of half the cost is required upon the signing of the Acceptance Agreement. Balance, including any installation fees, are due immediately upon final installation.
Installation. Each installation is unique. Depending on size and complexity, there may be additional costs for installations requiring contract assistance. Usually this ranges from $100 – $500. Estimate for this will be suggested in the proposal. Contact the Studio here to set up an Intake Consultation.
